Oh, no! Look what is back! That's right the weekly post that is all about the world of Cheesecake and Beefcake in the world of comics. It has been a while, but I have been inspired by DC's new conservative and bland designs that dominate the DCnU. Perhaps DC just needs a bit of education that the human body is nothing that they need to be afraid of.
Once again, we will be touring the latest comics from Marvel and DC for fine servings of Beefcake and Cheesecake. Warning: Do not go any further if you are sexually repressed, puritanical or believe in censoring what other people view and read. For all the rest of you deviants, go on and check out what we have for this week.
Avengers #22
Oh, dear. Men in bondage. That seems to happen all the time in the world of super hero comics. Steve and Viper clearly share a very special love.
Witchblade #153
Seems like a lot of women tying men to chairs is going on in comics this week. But, this scene gets the bonus fact of the shirtless male. A comic just isn't a comic without a shirtless male running around somewhere in the issue.
Birds of Prey #6
Showing Power Girl's cleavage via her boob window? Clearly unacceptable in the DCnU. Showing a man's bare chested man boobies while being dominated by a female? Totally acceptable. I gotcha, DC.
Thunderbolts #170
Shirtless males for everyone! Honestly, what woman doesn't dream of having her own loincloth wearing bodyguards catering to her every wish?
Legion of Super Heroes #6
LOOK OUT!!! It's the attack of the killer abs!!! I'm pretty sure the artist made up a few extra ab muscles for these Legionnaires that just don't exist in us mortal men. Seriously, any woman who dates either Dirk or Jan is totally in luck. No need to own a washing machine when you man has washboard abs like this!
Look out Dirk and Jan! Mon-El is simply not going to be outdone in the category of impossibly ripped abs! Just looking at Mon-El's incredible mid section makes my wimpy abs hurt.
Legion of Super Heroes/Star Trek #5
Oh, dear. Look at that. The conveniently torn costume that allows the guy to show off some of his manliness. To be fair, Cosmic Boy has never been shy about showing off some flesh. Remember that classic Mike Grell costume? I'm pretty sure your girlfriend does!
New Avengers #21
Holy crap! Talk about your perky man butt!! Spider-Man has butt cheeks that could crush diamonds!
Ultimate Comics: X-Men #7
Clearly, Quicksilver got jealous about Spider-Man and felt the need to show iff his sprinter's legs and butt. Those are some insane calves and a pretty perky man butt but sorry, Pietro. You aren't beating Spidey this week!
Flash Gordon #3
Damn! Now that is some seroius beefcake! Flash's muscles have muscles! All right, ladies. You all can stop drooling now.
Avenging Spider-Man #4
Hey, ladies! The gun show is over here! Hawkeye is clearly ready for the silver screen this summer. He already looks impossibly handsome.
Avengers #22
Caged women in bonds!! Ah, yes. A classic theme. It just never gets old. Especially when the artist gives the female this oddly sexy look that makes me believe that she is really enjoying her predicament just a bit too much.
Legion of Super Heroes #6
Now that is a DCU costume I can get behind! First, it is a costume that was not changed for the DCnU so it got sparred being ruined by Jim Lee. Second, it has all the classic elements of a proper costume. Thigh high boots with heels? Check. Showing off some skin? Check. Crazy hair cut? Check. Works for me.
Legion of Super Heroes/Star Trek #5
Ah, yes. The classic Shadow Lass costume. You know, Shady was my favorite female Legionnaire when I was a kid. I'm sure you have probably figured out why at this point.
Okay, so I know my fellow fans of Cheesecake have been mourning the loss of Power Girl's boob window. But, hey! Don't forget. We still have the Scarlet Witch!
Seriously, guys. We still have Scarlet Witch.
Okay, DC served up some serious weak sauce when it came to cheesecake last week. Marvel did an average job. So, in order to give you guys some more cheesecake we are going to have to turn to some indie comics.
Flash Gordon #3
Now that is a costume! Definitely no Jim Lee designed outfit with this one.
Queen Sonja #21
Butt shot! Ah, yes. There are few things in the world of comics as rewarding and enjoyable as the ever popular butt shot. I do have to wonder where in the world Sonja stores such a massive sword in her skimpy little costume.
Sure we are missing Power Girl's massive cleavage. Thank goodness we have Sonja's massive cleavage to fill that empty spot in our lives.
All right, that is all we have for now. We will be back next week when we re-cap the Beefcake and Cheesecake that was delivered in our batch of comic books that we picked up today!
