After resolving some computer problems I have been having the past couple weeks things are back to normal. With it I brought a huge return of the Comic Book Highlights as both DC Comics and Marvel brought some big time Highlights this week. Included in this week's Highlights is Spider-Man releasing his inner Dark Knight on crime in Amazing Spider-Man #665, the return of the Joker in Detective Comics #879, the return of the King in FF #6, Hal Jordan saving the universe in Green Lantern #67, some cry your eyes out pages in Ultimate Fallout #1 and much more. Hit the jump button to check out all of this week's Highlights.
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #665
Though Spider-Man is being as the superhero quip-machine he has faced enough dark moments in his life that he knows how to let loose his inner Dark Knight on bad guys which he did in this issue after some thug brutally attacked his best friend Betty Brant. Though a very dark subject matter, it was very cool to get this type of dark issue everyonce in a while since Big Time has been mostly Spider-Man having light comic book adventures and fights against his villains.
After some convincing, Peter understands that for that night he has to stop his hunt for the bad guy and be by Betty's side and have their movie night. This is one of the best scenes that Dan Slott has delivered. Just an awesome, sweet scene.
That does not mean Peter as Spider-Man does not find the man responsible as he goes out the next night and goes Dark Knight on that bad guy's ass.
BATGIRL #23
Talk about Girl Power! To bad DC is doing away with 2/3's of these characters in the New DC Universe. Sorry girls, but DC wants the old not the young. Both in comics and demographic.
CAPTAIN AMERICA #1
Steve Rogers is back and wielding the shield like a pro just in time for Captain America: The First Avenger. Now Marvel has to give us a Captain America/Human Torch one-shot to properly celebrate the Captain America movie.
THE DARK KNIGHT #3

TV? The Goddamn Batman has no time to watch TV while he beating up villains.
Finch did a great job capturing the face of every reader who has been waiting for The Dark Knight #3 to come out the past 100 years.
DEADPOOL #40
Finally, someone has put Deadpool were he belongs. Maybe now he won't be pulling a Wolverine and appearing in every other Marvel comic book.
DETECTIVE COMICS #879
Hmmmm.....I wonder who did this? This is going to be a tough mystery for Batman to solve because it could be anyone in the DC Universe who did this. Maybe even Superman. Your guess is as good as mine.
FF #6
Watch out Marvel Universe, The King has returned! Your in trouble Marvel heroes and villains!
GREEN LANTERN #67
The Great One has returned to the Green Lantern Corps. Though now the Sinestro Corps may want to change their Lantern Corp name. Maybe the Fear Squad.
Hal Jordan has just saved the universe. Now what should his reward be?
Yep, that's right, for everything Hal has done the Guardians have kicked him out of the Green Lanterns. Why? Because they are afraid that Hal is now able to kill them and allow other Green Lanterns to overide the rings the same way Hal has. I think the Guardians should really rethink the Lantern Corps they are acting as a council for. Maybe something in yellow. Just saying.
NEW AVENGERS #14
Damn, straight out of the hospital and Mockingbird is going Girls Gone Wild in the Avengers Mansion. And here I thought Bendis' Avengers did nothing but talk.
SUPERMAN #713
Saving cats! Of course! That is what Superman is good at. And here I forgot why Superman was even relevant anymore. This is a nice reminder.
ULTIMATE FALLOUT #2
Though it may be completely different in the 616-Universe it is just awesome seeing how people in the Ultimate Universe have gathered to pay their respects to Peter Parker as he did so much as Spider-Man. Afterall Spider-Man was seen in a much more positive light in the Ultimate Universe as he was the #1 hero in this universe along with being their flagship character.
Goddamn It! Where is a tissue when you need one. I am not afraid to admit that I felt a couple tears coming when I first read this scene. It hit all the correct emotional beats. This is probably the most touching two pages I have read from a post-death issue. Just fantastic!
WOLVERINE #12
DAMN! Wolverine has seriously let himself go.
X-MEN: SCHISM #1
Coming next summer to a theater near you I Love You, Man 2 starring Scott "Cyclops" Summers and James "Wolverine" Howlett. It's the blockbuster you will not want to miss.
